AeroGRID Adds Aerial Imagery of Canada

  • Rating12345
AeroGRID has signed a data agreement with First Base Solutions, Canada’s leading provider of aerial photography and orthophoto mapping. The agreement will enable AeroGRID to resell 120,000km2 of central Canada plus all major cities with the data supplied via WMS.

AeroGRID currently hosts over 1.5 million square kilometres, of continuous aerial survey coverage over 10 countries in Western Europe as well as data from South Africa and the USA on its WMS web server. AeroGRID can also provide additional access to 2m km² of data from 10 other European nations.

WMS is the standard protocol for streaming georeferenced map imagery over the Internet to web based applications, GIS and CAD software. WMS feeds only load the imagery that a user needs to see rather than a whole dataset, it is a very convenient and efficient way for our clients to access our growing library of high resolution high accuracy imagery.

“AeroGRID now has an established and growing network of partners extending to every continent,” said Miles Taylor, General Manager. “First Base Solutions’ unrivalled aerial coverage of Canada helps to bring us one step closer to our goal of providing aerial coverage wherever it is available in the world. We know the market and we can source aerial data for our customers wherever it may be available. We are actively seeking new partners to extend our reach still further and anyone interested in making their data available should get in touch,” continued Taylor.
