Additional Speakers Announced for GEOINT 2017

Herndon, Virginia  — The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) recently confirmed new keynote speakers for its GEOINT 2017 Symposium, which will take place June 4-7 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. The theme of this year’s Symposium is “Advancing Capabilities to Meet Emerging Threats.”

Recently added speakers include:

  • COL Steven D. Fleming, Ph.D., U.S. Army (Ret.), professor of practice of spatial sciences, Spatial Sciences Institute, University of Southern California
  • Dr. Joseph F. Fontanella, Director, U.S. Army Geospatial Center
  • Shel Israel, Author of “The Fourth Transformation: How Augmented Reality & Artificial Intelligence Will Change Everything”
  • Lt. Gen. VeraLinn “Dash” Jamieson, Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for ISR
  • Dr. Suzette Kimball, Director, Civil Applications Committee (CAC)
  • Gen. Darren W. McDew, U.S. Air Force, Commander, U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM)
  • Robert Scoble, Futurist and Author of “The Fourth Transformation: How Augmented Reality & Artificial Intelligence Will Change Everything”
  • Adm. Kurt W. Tidd, U.S. Navy, Commander, U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM)

Israel and Scoble will give a joint keynote address June 6. The duo will also sign free copies of “The Fourth Transformation” during that day’s lunch break following general session. The first 500 attendees to visit Israel and Scoble will receive a complimentary copy of their book.

Previously announced keynote speakers include Robert Cardillo, Director, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA); James Comey, Director, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); and Dr. Todd Lowery, Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence (USDI).

Dr. Stacey Dixon, Deputy Director of the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA), and Dr. Peter Highnam, Director of NGA Research, will give keynotes June 4 at USGIF’s pre-symposium science and technology-focused day called GEOINT Foreword.

In addition to these speakers, GEOINT 2017 will feature an extensive exhibit hall with more than 230 organizations; 56 hours of dedicated professional development, training, and education sessions; rich networking events with the opportunity to connect with 4,000 intelligence professionals; a government pavilion stage featuring speakers from NGA, DIA, NRO, and many others; a K-8 program that allows students to learn and experience GEOINT; and much more.
