New L1+L5 SE873K5-D and SE869eK5-DRK modules extend Telit Cinterion’s GNSS roadmap from ultra-compact designs to ultra-precise, uninterrupted positioning
Irvine, Calif., March 9, 2026 – Telit Cinterion, an end-to-end IoT solutions enabler, today announced an expansion of its next-generation global navigation satellite system (GNSS) portfolio with the introduction of two new dual-band positioning modules: the ultra-compact SE873K5-D and the high-end SE869eK5-DRK. Built on the latest AG3335 chipset series from long-time partner Airoha, the new modules extend Telit Cinterion’s GNSS roadmap from space- and power-constrained IoT devices to applications requiring continuous, ultra-precise positioning.
SE873K5-D: Dual-Band GNSS for Ultra-Compact, Battery-Powered Designs
The SE873K5-D expands the established SE873K5 family with a dual-band L1+L5 variant designed specifically for highly size- and power-constrained applications. Maintaining the same 7 x 7 mm footprint and pin-to-pin compatibility as the single-frequency SE873K5, the new module allows OEMs to scale performance without changing their hardware designs.
The SE873K5-D supports multi-constellation GNSS across the L1 and L5 bands, delivering improved accuracy and robustness against interference and multipath effects compared to single-frequency solutions. With differential global navigation satellite system (DGNSS) support via RTCM corrections, the module enables sub-meter accuracy, making it ideal for wearables, asset tracking, fleet management and drones. Two power supply variants allow designers to optimize either for minimal size or ultra-low power consumption in battery-operated devices. Multiple configurable usage profiles—such as fitness, tracking and drone modes—provide added flexibility across IoT verticals.
SE869eK5-DRK: Continuous, Ultra-Precise Positioning with RTK and Dead Reckoning
The SE869eK5-DRK represents the next evolution of Telit Cinterion’s high-end GNSS offering. Based on the upper tier of the AG3335 chipset family, the module builds on the previously announced SE869eK5-DR by adding support for real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning in combination with untethered dead reckoning (UDR).
This powerful combination enables uninterrupted, centimeter-level positioning even when GNSS signals are degraded or unavailable due to jamming, interference or physical obstructions. An embedded inertial measurement unit (IMU) allows the SE869eK5-DRK to maintain accurate position fixes in challenging environments such as tunnels, underground parking structures and dense urban areas. The module also supports DGNSS for sub-meter accuracy when RTK corrections are not available or when centimeter-level accuracy is unnecessary.
Designed in an industry-standard 16 x 12.2 mm form factor, the SE869eK5-DRK introduces a proprietary extended pinout while remaining backward compatible with existing designs. The additional pins enable future-proof implementations and customization, allowing OEMs to expand capabilities over time without redesigning their products.
Together, the SE873K5-D and SE869eK5-DRK give device manufacturers a scalable path to adopt dual-band L1+L5 GNSS, advanced correction technologies and resilient positioning architectures without redesigning hardware. When combined with Telit Cinterion cellular connectivity solutions, both modules support the global delivery of Radio Technical Commission for Maritime Services (RTCM) corrections, enabling higher accuracy across connected IoT deployments.
“As IoT applications demand both smaller form factors and higher positioning performance, customers need a GNSS portfolio that can scale with their requirements,” said Eric Lagorce, Global Head of GNSS & Wi-Fi/Bluetooth® Solutions at Telit Cinterion. “With the SE873K5-D and SE869eK5-DRK, we are extending our next-generation GNSS roadmap—from ultra-compact, low-power devices to mission-critical applications that require continuous, ultra-precise positioning—while preserving design continuity for our customers.”
Engineering validation testing (EVT) samples of the SE873K5-D are available now, with design validation testing (DVT) samples expected soon and mass production planned for Q2 2026. Design validation testing (DVT) samples of the SE869eK5-DRK are available now, with mass production planned for Q2 2026.
