SimActive Used to Leverage High-Precision Positioning Systems

  • Rating12345

SimActive, a developer of photogrammetry software, announces the use of its Correlator3D product in support of high-precision positioning systems such as Trimble Applanix.

When integrated with lidar and/or imaging sensors, they allow for more accurate map products.
With these high-precision positioning systems, the position of the aircraft is recorded as well as its attitude. By importing the positioning information directly for processing, its precision can be carried through the aerial triangulation (AT) process to produce higher quality DSMs, DTMs, point clouds and orthomosaics.

“Correlator3D is unique in that it allows the user full control of the AT process”, said Mohammed M.R. Mostafa, Lead Technical Authority on Mobile Mapping at Trimble Applanix.  “This control ensures that the integrity of the solution from our positioning systems is maintained, resulting in more precise map products.”
