HUMBOLDT Open Day: Geospatial Data Harmonisation in Action

The HUMBOLDT Open Day will take place on 28th September 2010 in Lisbon, Portugal, hosted by the Instituto Geográfico Português (IGP). The programme is organised by the consortium of the HUMBOLDT project in cooperation with the VESTA-GIS project. The four-year EU project HUMBOLDT contributes to the implementation of a European Spatial Data Infrastructure (ESDI) that integrates the diversity of spatial data available for a multitude of European organisations. The main goal of the HUMBOLDT project is to enable organisations to document, publish and harmonise their spatial information. The software tools and processes developed demonstrate the feasibility and advantages of an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe as planned by the INSPIRE initiative, meeting the goals of Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES).
