2Excel Aviation, providers of innovative and bespoke aerial remote sensing applications has become the latest company to join the British Association of Remote Sensing Companies (BARSC).
From their headquarters at the Sywell Aerodrome in Northamptonshire, the staff of 2Excel Aviation design and implement remote sensing projects across the entire electromagnetic spectrum, for customers working across numerous industries.
Utilising their entire fleet; which includes helicopters, light aircraft and even a couple of Boeing 727s, the company provides a unique development platform for companies and allows them to collect and create exactly the datasets they need for their applications.
One such project saw the 2Excel Aviation project staff mount a combined hyperspectral sensor (covering wavelengths of 0.4 – 2.5 microns) and a high-resolution optical sensor on a Navajo PA-31 aircraft to collect high resolution images over a huge area.
Head of Remote Sensing, William Oxford explains more about why his company decided to join BARSC; “2Excel Aviation has a culture of doing difficult things well. We have a proven concept to capability process, which provides an affordable path for concept development and service delivery. Our hyperspectral collection, processing and analysis capability is an example of our commitment to solving hard problems, and we are exploring other novel sensors to expand our remote sensing capability.”
“We feel that our services will valuable to the remote sensing community and complement drone and satellite services. I am very much looking forward to exploring the possibilities with the members of BARSC.“
In reply, BARSC Chairman Alistair Maclenan said; “We are delighted to welcome 2Excel Aviation as our latest member. I’m really impressed with their combination of aerial assets and processing expertise. Remote sensing end-users will do well to investigate what this company can do. Also, it is gratifying that more and more companies are joining BARSC and recognise the work we do in promoting the interests of all companies in the UK involved in remote sensing.”
