Global Mapper for Oil and Gas Presentation at Denver PUG

The Denver Petroleum User Group (PUG) will be holding their annual meeting on Thursday, August 11 and Blue Marble is pleased to announce that Mike Childs, lead developer of Global Mapper, will be speaking at the event. Scheduled from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, Mike’s presentation will introduce and demonstrate the use of Global Mapper within the oil and gas industry.

Over the years, Global Mapper has established a dedicated and enthusiastic following in the energy business and many components of the software have been developed to meet the unique challenges of this industry.

As well as showcasing such workflows as pad site placement, cut and fill volume calculation, and LiDAR processing, Mike will also provide a pre-release overview of Global Mapper version 18, which includes a completely redesigned interface as well as significantly improved 3D visualization and data processing. Mike will also introduce Global Mapper Mobile, a new iOS app that provides field technicians with access to raster and vector GIS layers as well as data collection functionality on an iPad or iPhone.
