Applied Spatial Technology Releases Freeway US 2015 with Updated Roads and Performance Enhancements

  • Rating12345

Bethesda, MD 15-June-2016 – Applied Spatial Technology, Inc. is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Freeway US 2015, updated with the latest roadway system from US Census Bureau TIGER data. Freeway US 2015 provides complete seamless nationwide drive time analysis capabilities for the United States.

Freeway is an application that is used to generate drive time polygons and perform origin-destination drive time modeling. Drive time analysis is used to derive accurate demographics around a site and to model drive time and drive distance from one location to another. Freeway has now been updated with the most currently available roadway system from TIGER, and is available through AST’s reseller network in Canada and the US.

The underlying database used by Freeway US 2015 had been modified, resulting in a performance increase of 25-40%. The urban/rural definition has been changed and now reflects the Census Bureau “Urbanized Areas” definitions, utilizing the cartographic layer from the TIGER system.   This will ensure synchronization over time.

“We are pleased to announce the release of  the 2015 data update and software revision, and believe this release will provide great value for our clients involved with trade area delineation, demographic analysis, and related drive time studies,” said Don Segal, President of AST. He continues, “The data update, incorporating the latest TIGER release, requires less than 105 mb of storage space for the entire US, and is designed to perform accurate drive time analyses very quickly.”
