Spheron-VR Announce the Spheron-Lite Camera Solution

  • Rating12345

November 23, 2015 — Spheron-VR AG, known globally as pioneers in HDR (High Dynamic Range) camera technology and experts in visual content management software, today announce their new solution to create the ultimate HDR colour for point cloud data: SpheronLite.

Spheron offers the most accurate spherical HDR imagery, as its camera head rotates around the absolute nodal center position. Requiring no image-stitching or blending, the HDR data is captured automatically in one single rotation, resulting in a perfect image with no parallax image distortion issues.

The The solution consists of the SceneCam© camera device, a new lightweight touchscreen control system featuring a clear display for real-time onsite previewing, and a specially designed tripod attachment arm with integrated battery holders, which can be quickly mounted onto any such survey tripod. In addition, a new tribrach adapter-set allows the Spheron camera lens to be positioned exactly at the same height and position as the laser scanner device, which enables high quality spheron HDR imagery to be precisely overlaid to the 3d point cloud data set.
The Spheron camera known as SceneCam© is able to capture 360º x 180º spherical images automatically in a single scan and with 26 f-stops of dynamic range and a clarity of up to 100 mega-pixels* in resolution (*compared to a DSLR and with full HDR 32-bit per channel x RGB = 96-bit image data per pixel). High dynamic range imagery is the next step forward in translating complex dense point clouds into a more meaningful – visually rich reality.
Spheron’s SceneWorks division also offers the production for virtual onsite scene documentation, offering tailored solutions for areas such as Crime Scene forensic documentation, Security, Critical Infrastructure and also Industrial Industries such as Plant, Construction and other Visual Asset Management applications.
The SpheronLite system comes complete with a dedicated tribrach adapter to height match each specific terrestrial laser scanner. Please contact SpheronVR to discuss your specific requirements.
Pricing – SpheronLite systems from = 19,900 euros (US$ 21,200  /  £13,900  approx.)
