Updated Pan-European Datasets Released by EuroGeographics

  • Rating12345

July 15, 2015 — Two updated pan-European datasets created from authoritative national datasets have been released by EuroGeographics.

EuroBoundaryMap, a seamless geo-database at 1:100 000 scale, and EuroRegionalMap, a 1:250 000 scale topo-geographic dataset, have both been enhanced using harmonised geospatial information from National Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registry Authorities.

Angela Baker, Sales, Marketing and Channel Manager, EuroGeographics said: “Feedback from users indicates that they greatly value high quality, reliable data from authoritative sources.”

“We are therefore delighted to announce that EuroRegionalMap now covers 34 countries. In addition, all themes have been updated, ports have been added to the transport network and, where available, the latest population figures have been included.”

“EuroBoundaryMap has been updated with the latest administrative information for 41 European countries. It also contains a European-wide unique identifier for more than 134,000 administrative units — from commune to country level — and links to LAU and NUTS statistical codes.”

EuroBoundaryMap is a seamless geo-database at 1:100 000 scale which covers 41 European countries including all EU member states and three of the current EU candidate countries. It also contains a European-wide unique identifier for all administrative units and an exact linkage to LAU and NUTS statistical codes, including the NUTS 2013 regulation.

EuroRegionalMap contains topo-geographic information at 1:250 000 scale and covers 34 European states: 27 EU member states, 4 EFTA states (Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland), Moldova, Serbia, Georgia, Andorra (included with France), Monaco (included with France), Citta del Vaticano and San Marino (included with Italy), Kosovo (included in Serbia) and Faroe Islands.

In addition to EuroBoundaryMap and EuroRegionalMap, EuroGeographics’ portfolio also includes EuroDEM, a digital elevation model, and EuroGlobalMap, 1:1 million scale open data which has been downloaded more than 3,500 times since its launch in 2013.
