March 18, 2015 — Harris is pleased to announce that Paolo E. Colombi has joined Harris as Head of Global Sales for Geospatial Solutions.
Paolo is responsible for bringing Harris’ IntelliEarth™ Geospatial Solutions to global markets. In this capacity, he leads the sales of related products and services, identifies and contracts sales channel partners, manages the execution of channel partner agreements, and supports the growth of Harris’ geospatial business worldwide.
Paolo has over 30 years of experience in sales, operations, and global management in high technology and telecommunications systems and services. Before joining Harris, Paolo was most recently a consultant for Harris and other companies in the geospatial industry. During the seven years prior, he was the vice president of international sales at GeoEye, Inc. (now DigitalGlobe Inc.), where he directed all overseas business for his employer.
Prior to joining GeoEye, Paolo was the international sales leader for Telular, executive vice president of sales for Lotus Interworks, and served in various executive-level positions for Teleglobe Corp. He also worked for Sprint International, as well as its predecessor company (GTE Telenet) and its successor company (Global One). During this period, he held the positions of president of Global One in Mexico; managing director of Sprint International France; and vice president, system marketing and sales for Sprint International Southern Europe in Italy, among other leadership assignments.
Paolo has lived and worked in Italy, France, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He is fluent in four languages and has traveled for business to more than 100 countries. He holds a doctoral degree in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Turin (Italy); a master’s degree in international management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management of Glendale, Arizona; and a master’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University of Dallas, Texas. Paolo was a Fulbright Scholar at both graduate schools in the USA.
