  • Rating12345

The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) announced the recipients of its 2013 Scholarship Program, awarding a total of $107,000 to outstanding students studying the geospatial sciences or a related field. Since 2004, USGIF has awarded a total of $691,000 in scholarships.

This year, the Foundation awarded scholarships to 25 students, which include six Ph.D. candidates, nine students pursuing master’s degrees, four undergraduate students and six graduating high school seniors. Graduating high school seniors were awarded $2,000, and each undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. student received $5,000.

“USGIF remains a leader among geospatial scholarship programs, this year awarding $107,000 to innovative minds at all collegiate levels,” said Dr. Max Baber, USGIF’s director of academic programs. “These students represent the next generation of GEOINT professionals, leveraging strong spatial reasoning abilities with highly developed skills in geospatial science and technology.”
