Award Winning Author Terri Morrison to Keynote Geospatial & Engineering International Conference Luncheon

Terri Morrison, author of the best-selling book, Kiss Bow or Shake Hands: The Best Selling Guide to Doing Business in More Than Sixty Countries, will provide the luncheon keynote address during the Geospatial & Engineering International Conference November 13-14, 2013 at the Westin Hotel in Alexandria, VA.

With the conference theme of, “Entering and Expanding Global Business Opportunities”, sessions will focus on the ability of small to larger engineering and geospatial businesses to export their professional services outside of the United States.

Conference sessions will feature organizations that finance, procure, coordinate, and manage geospatial and engineering projects outside the Unites States. Officials from agencies and non-governmental organizations will discuss their programs, budgets, requirements and procurement procedures for geospatial and engineering services.  In addition, private sector professionals experienced in global business will share best practices and lessons learned.

Sessions will provide private sector companies that are new or exploring markets outside the United States with information on how to work globally both with experienced firms and dealing with strategic planning, laws, culture, regulations, safety and insurance. Experienced firms working overseas will benefit from discussions with exporting experts and potential clients. The conference is designed for geospatial and engineering professionals with a focus on private sector entry into international commerce for professional services. The two-day conference will provide a forum for education, business development, and networking.

The conference is being organized by MAPPS, the national association for private sector geospatial firms. Supporting organizations include Association of American Geographers (AAG), American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), Construction Industry Round Table (CIRT), Global Spatial Data Infrastructure Association (GSDI), National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), and the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA).
