OpenGeo the world’s leading commercial open source geospatial company, today announced it has hired Dave Gibbon and promoted Alyssa Wright to its expanding sales team.
Gibbon will lead OpenGeo’s international and commercial sales effort. He brings a deep track record of success in enterprise software sales. He was most recently director of strategic accounts at Lighthaus Logic and previously director of strategic accounts at Bycast, where he led direct and channel sales, developing and working with horizontal (HP, IBM, etc.), vertical (GE, McKesson, etc.), and value-added-reseller partners globally.
“Dave’s track record selling enterprise software will play an important role in furthering the penetration of our product in large, global accounts,” said Eddie Pickle, OpenGeo CEO.
Wright will take on the role of VP, Product Sales. She previously oversaw all client work for OpenGeo Suite, the company’s comprehensive open source-based web mapping platform.
“Alyssa brings knowledge of our products closer to our customers,” said Pickle. “Her past success working with our product team to develop our commercial open source products will have a direct and immediate impact on our enterprise relationships.”
Gibbon and Wright are part of a recent string of aggressive hires OpenGeo has made over the past three months. Last week, OpenGeo announced it hired Brian Monheiser to head the geospatial software company’s sales efforts in the defense and intelligence markets. Monheiser was previously one of the top federal agency account managers at Esri.
