“I Fly UltraCam” Case Study: Ramani Geosystems

  • Rating12345

The UltraCam team recently visited Ramani Geosystems, a Kenya–based geospatial services firm that offers land surveying, aerial photography, aerial LiDAR and mapping services throughout Africa and an UltraCam customer since 2012. Ramani Geosystems wanted to be able to take on larger projects and find a better way to capture high-resolution images in East Africa’s tricky weather and lighting conditions.

In October 2012, the company purchased the Microsoft UltraCamX, becoming the first company in East Africa with a large-format digital aerial, for use in its aerial projects and now can tackle large projects, delivering superior imagery, greater flight and processing efficiency, and faster service to customers. While there, the team interviewed Ramani’s Managing Director Daniel Haywood, Vincent Kimaiyo, the Head of Air Operations and Boniface Mworia, the Head of Data Management. The result is a fifth installment in our series of “I Fly UltraCam” videos and written case studies.
