To kick off the free webinar series, Blue Marble is offering a webinar entitled, Accessible GIS for Municipal and Local Government , on Thursday, July 25th, 2013. In the Accessible GIS for Municipal and Local Government webinar, Blue Marble will demonstrate how Global Mapper can be employed to set up and manage a municipal GIS. Topics will include finding and importing pre-existing datasets, including imagery and elevation data, as well as creating and managing a property or parcel dataset. The webinar will cover how to use field-collected data to create spatial data layers, such as public works assets, and how to create buffers around environmentally sensitive areas to help enforce building regulations.
