LUCIA – A tool for land use change impact analysis

  • Rating12345

Land use and land cover changes have significant impact on the environment and accordingly this topic has gained increasing political awareness during the last decade. Using modelling and simulation, we can increase our understanding of the land-use system and reduce uncertainty concerning decisions. The current paper describes the development of a grid based land-use simulation model – LUCIA – facilitating the decision-making process through an adaptive and transparent modelling system. Accordingly, user friendliness and processing speed have been given top priority in the design and implementation of the system.
