Agritechnica Continues on Course for Success

  • Rating12345

The world’s largest exhibition for agricultural machinery and equipment, Agritechnica, waiting to open its gates this November, is attracting more manufacturers of tractors, agricultural machinery and equipment from Germany and abroad than ever before. This is evident from the stand bookings received to date, which are about ten per cent up on the last event in 2009. The organiser DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft – German Agricultural Society) is accordingly expecting more than 2,000 exhibitors from Germany and other countries to take part in the show this year too.

All global players in the agricultural machinery and equipment industry have already registered, says Agritechnica Project Manager Freya von Rhade, adding that in addition some 170 new exhibitors have booked stands for the first time. She sees this as confirmation of the general estimation that thanks to the increasing demand expected worldwide for foods and biomass from agricultural raw materials, agri-business can look forward to altogether excellent prospects. Furthermore, the results of the DLG-Trendmonitor Europe, for which some 3,500 farmers from Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary were surveyed in autumn 2010, point to an improved economic environment for Europe’s farmers. The DLG-Trendmonitor ascertains a clear upward trend by comparison with the spring survey in 2010 as regards both estimations of the current situation of farms and their expectations of business development. German farmers are more optimistic again and every second one is planning investments. The improved economic climate is leading to growing investment intentions in France and the United Kingdom too. Willingness of French farmers to invest has risen from 13 per cent to 20 per cent,  in the United Kingdom  investment plans have increased from 46 per cent to 56 per cent.
