Dutch Kadaster Contributes Data to Esri’s World Topographic Map

  • Rating12345

The Dutch Kadaster, the organization in the Netherlands responsible for the registration of real estate and geographic information, contributed data from one of its major databases to Esri’s World Topographic Map. The World Topographic Map, along with other basemaps, is freely available in the online version of ArcGIS, ArcGIS Explorer, ArcGIS for Desktop, and ArcGIS for Server.

Organizations around the world supply authoritative content to the World Topographic Map, resulting in a truly global, highly detailed, and cartographically uniform basemap. The Netherlands is the latest country to contribute data to the World Topographic Map, following Spain, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and the UK. The Netherlands contributed datasets from its topographic database, which includes airports, buildings, and neighborhoods.

“The Dutch Kadaster data adds significant detail to the World Topographic Map,” says Jack Dangermond, Esri president. “As more governments participate, we continue to build this valuable global cartographic resource.”
