PromapSolutions, has secured a win in the utility sector to provide Cambridge Water with Ordnance Survey MasterMap (OSMM) Topography Layer Mapping for the next three years. The contract was awarded to Landmark PromapSolutions following a review of Cambridge Water’s current mapping provider. Cambridge Water will use the detailed landscaping of the OSMM Topography Layer as part of its Geographic Information System (GIS) to keep track of mains pipes, water hydrants and other assets, which is essential information to have to hand given the role of the organisation.

OS MasterMap Topography Layer is part of the full suite of OS data available through PromapSolutions. The dataset comprises of 425 million features captured from the built and natural landscape of Britain. Features in the MasterMap Topography Layer are represented with unique common references known as TOIDs (Topographical Identifier) which allows full integration with the other layers within the MasterMap dataset.
