Participatory scenarios at the policy-science interface: A suitable tool for long-term strategies?

Our environment is changing at faster speed than ever. Decision-making has become far more complex and uncertain since socio-economic developments are no longer as stable and predictable as in the past. At the same time, many of today’s adressing policy problems are of long-term nature, for example climate change or the ageing of societies in Europe. Designing policy strategies that are robust against a set of different framework conditions over the long term is a key challenge for decision-makers and researchers.
