Tasmania to Lead the World in Forest Carbon Research

Tasmania is set to become a world leader in forest carbon research, according to the Minister for Energy and Resources Bryan Green. Mr Green said a number of projects were either underway or ready to start under a carbon research program established by Forestry Tasmania last year. “Climate change is a major issue and FT’s carbon research program will further increase our confidence in the reporting of forest carbon stores. “One of the key projects will be the construction of a globally unique carbon flux tower at the Warra Long Term Ecological Research site south of Hobart.
