Blue Marble Geographics will be exhibiting at the Esri Survey Summit in San Diego, CA July 8-10, 2011. Come visit Booth S-400 to see firsthand the newest release of the Blue Marble Desktop version 2.3. The latest version of the Blue Marble Desktop includes an enhanced Esri Extension which will allow users to define coordinate transformations in ArcMap by area of use, through both the Esri Projection Engine and Blue Marble’s GeoCalc engine. Blue Marble’s geospatial data manipulation and conversion solutions are used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software companies, universities, oil and gas companies, civil engineering, surveying, technology, enterprise GIS groups, government and military organizations.

The Blue Marble Desktop v2.3 is due to be released in mid-July featuring Calculator v7.6. Stop by booth S-400 to preview the latest features and functionality enhancements to the Geographic Calculator. Along with major updates to the GeoCalc libraries, and several new vertical data models, there have been significant updates to the LiDAR data visualization and manipulation functionality as well. Calculator v7.6 will also include a new MetaData Editor Tool with read and write support for XML and text-based metadata files; FGDC and Esri compliant. Also included in version 7.6 are new area clipper and layer splitter tools. These tools will allow users to define custom polygons and break apart multi-layered vector files. Come see why GIS analysts and surveyors around the world, who rely on highly accurate and user-friendly GIS data processing, turn to Blue Marble.

“This release allows us to couple our coordinate system control tools with the Esri ArcMap workspace like never before,” stated Blue Marble President Patrick Cunningham. “Now GIS Managers and experts can dictate their preferred coordinate system processing in ArcMap from the Blue Marble Desktop Administrative tools choosing their preferred transformations based on the areas their users are working in. The majority of the coordinate system definitions can come right from the Esri Projection engine or if supplemented by Blue Marble’s GeoCalc insuring unmatched coordinate object selection flexibility for truly highly accurate mapping.”
