Fire in Beloyarsk District of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area

Satellites keep detecting multiple “hot spots” – probable fire blazes on the territory of Siberia and the Far East of Russia. According to operational satellite-based monitoring data 106 thermal anomalies were detected on as of June 27 in Khabarovsk Territory, 58 – on the territory of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, 25 – Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area, 14 – in the Republic of Buryatia, 12 – in Amur Region.

Special attention during fire situation monitoring is paid to the regions with a high concentration of oil and gas infrastructural facilities. “Hot spots” 10 km away from the village of Lykhma (Beloyarsk District, KhMAA) were registered on June 25. SPOT 4 imagewas received on June 26 by ScanEx, where two fire fronts, burnt areas and a smoke plume can be clearly seen. The fire is propagating southward and south-eastward.
