Over 900 abstracts and papers from 72 different countries have been submitted, showing a tremendous interest in the discpline and in the 25th International Cartographic Conference. The scientific programme is guaranteed to be as varied as substantial! Keynotes speakers from different areas of expertise have been invited to bring other perspectives, among them the geographer Jean-Christophe Victor, who runs Arte TV show «Le dessous des cartes», the sociologist Dominique Boullier and the geographer Denise Pumain.
Tribute for Jacques Bertin
The world famous French cartographer Jacques Bertin will be celebrated. Gilles Palsky will
recall his life and a specific scientific session will present his work and influences from
diverse perspectives.
