In response to the recommendations of the GIGAS (GEOSS, INSPIRE and GMES, an Action in Support) project, CEN/TC 287 Geographic Information has agreed to establish a EU-level repository of reference material on interoperability, where current and future projects can find state-of-the-art information on interoperability. By the same token, these projects could then add new reference material as they progress in their work programmes. To further support the GIGAS recommendations and to complement the mentioned repository with formal CEN deliverables, CEN/TC 287 is revising TR15449 Geographic information ? Standards, specifications, technical reports and guidelines, required to implement Spatial Data Infrastructures by splitting it in to a multi-part report:

The content of these parts will be driven by the results of completed and current projects in the domain of GMES, INSPIRE, and GEOSS, and by the European Interoperability Framework. JRC is looking for technical writers that are available and capable to contribute to above-mentioned draft Technical Reports in the period April to September 2011.
The tasks consist of:
The extraction of relevant information from the reference material made available by projects to CEN/TC 287 in cooperation with CEN/TC 287/WG Spatial Data Infrastructures; and
The editing of one or more of the above-mentioned NWIP based on directions and input provided by CEN/TC 287/WG Spatial Data Infrastructures.
The ideal candidates for this work shall have a proven familiarity with standardisation in the field of geographic information, and shall have excellent writing skills in the English language.
Only experts that are registered in the Cordis DG RTD EMM database https://cordis.europa.eu/emmfp7/index.cfm and have an EMM number (proof of their registration in the EMM database) can be appointed. The terms and conditions of
the EMM database apply.
Interested experts are encouraged to register in the Cordis DG RTD EMM database.
They should flag that they are available as a ?reviewer?, use as freestyle
keywords the terms ?standardisation? and ?geographic information?.
The selection of experts will be done based on their expertise described in
their CVs in the Cordis database. The first screening of the database will take
place on 28st of March 2011
