3-GIS to Demonstrate New Android Products at the Esri International User Conference

  • Rating12345

3-GIS, a GIS software development company based in Decatur, Alabama will exhibit in booth 2408 at the Esri International User Conference July 23-27 in San Diego, California.

3-GIS continues to expand its core software products built on Esri’s ArcGIS Server 10.  Numerous products being shown at the booth, from the Express Solution will demonstrate 3-GIS’ commitment to taking GIS in new directions for utility and telecommunication companies.  The Express Solution products consist of Network Express our web-based solution; Field Express, our mobile solution and Command Center, our common operational picture tool.  Furthermore, 3-GIS once again shows its commitment to staying on the leading edge of GIS technology by showcasing their Android and iPad application for Field Express.  Not only able to view GIS data, Field Express for Android and iPad can also EDIT both feature level and related record data.

In addition, being demonstrated in the booth will be the new 3-GIS High Accuracy GPS solution.  In conjunction with GTI, 3-GIS has integrated a high-accuracy external GPS receiver with the Android operating system to allow tablet-based data collection that results in high quality GPS data.  The high-accuracy GPS utilizes a satellite-based correction system that provides sub-foot accuracy in real time without the need for post-processing.  This streamlined process will significantly reduce the total cost of collecting GPS data because it will virtually eliminate the need for back-office processing and integration.  This new technology will be applied to recording the location of new main and service installations as well as other assets such as marker balls.

Furthermore, the 3-GIS mobile solutions can all function in a completely disconnected mode of operation while efficiently caching thousands of features and records.  Another first from 3-GIS.  3-GIS continues to push the limits of technology by continually innovating and pushing GIS forward at utility and telecommunication companies worldwide.

“The Esri User Conference is our premiere event of the year.  Each year we try to showcase what’s cool in our solution and I’m really excited to be showing our disconnected Android field edit/audit tool,” added Tom Counts, president of 3-GIS.  “We’ve gone to great effort to ‘keep it simple’ and I think everyone will be pleased to see we’ve once again achieved our goal.  I encourage anyone looking to GIS-enable their workforce to come see us in Booth 2408.”
