Visualizing the Midwest’s Energy Supply

The new Power Almanac of the American Midwest, developed by World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Great Plains Institute, organizes data from 50 different sources and into an intuitive and interactive map of the Midwest’s energy supply system. At the Innovation Exchange, we have been exploring how visualization tools can help us understand how we use energy, with the intent to improve conservation strategies. Our energy supply is dynamic: from a system perspective, it matters where and when you save a kilowatt-hour.
