Skytec Joins Esri Startup Program

  • Rating12345

CHATTANOOGA, TN – Skytec LLC, a leading Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Drone as a Service (DaaS) provider, has been selected to join the Esri Startup program as an emerging business partner.

The three-year program is part of a global Esri initiative to help emerging businesses succeed by giving them access to ArcGIS software along with the services, tools, content, education and training they need to successfully integrate the ArcGIS mapping and location technology into their business platforms.

A leading service provider in the rapidly-emerging UAS industry, Skytec delivers high-accuracy custom data visualization and analytics for clients across a wide range of sectors including environmental, engineering, urban planning, utilities and natural resources using specialized sensors, LiDAR, photogrammetry and other UAS tools.

Accessibility and processing requirements are two of the greatest challenges for UAS data adoption and integration according to Andy Carroll, Skytec chief technology officer and co-founder.

“Our participation as an Emerging Business Partner in the Esri Startup Program uniquely positions Skytec to solve that problem,” said Carroll. “Esri is a world leader in GIS and spatial data analysis. Using the software, tools and resources available to us through the startup program, Skytec will have the capacity to build a rich suite of solutions to make high-resolution, high-accuracy data easily accessible to clients lacking the software, computational capacity, or expertise to take full advantage of UAS data.”

Such solutions could include custom data visualization and analytics applications, and custom cloud-based mapping tools that can be accessed via a web browser, Carroll stated.

“We look forward to Skytec and Esri demonstrating the benefits of this collaboration to strategic customers in the coming months as Skytec integrates the ArcGIS software and other Esri tools into its platform,” said Martin Copping, Esri Startup Program Account Manager.

Companies are selected for the Esri Startup Program through a competitive application process. Once selected, participating companies receive three years of access to Esri’s ArcGIS system, a globally leading location and mapping software platform, along with education and training, networking and co-promotional opportunities, and other support resources designed to help emerging businesses thrive.
