Pennsylvania State University Student Wins AMS/ITT Graduate Fellowship

PR — ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) announced today that Thomas A. Sabbatelli, a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, has been awarded an American Metrological Society (AMS)/ITT graduate fellowship.
 
Sabbatelli graduated this spring with a degree in meteorology and will pursue a master’s in the same field of study at Penn State. He is from Yardley, Pennsylvania and is a 2004 graduate of Holy Ghost Preparatory School.
 
AMS/ITT graduate fellowship winners are selected on the basis of outstanding academic achievement, personal accomplishments and a detailed description of the dissertation topic and proposed research plan.
 
“As a leader in space-based sensors providing critical weather, climate and other environmental information, ITT recognizes Thomas Sabbatelli for his outstanding academic achievements,” said Rob Mitrevski, vice president and director, commercial and space sciences, ITT Space Systems Division. “Understanding weather and climate are more important than ever to our nation’s economy and our future, and ITT is proud to do its part to help develop the next generation of scientists. “
 
The AMS/ITT graduate fellowship is awarded to a student wishing to complete a dissertation on the history of the atmosphere, or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences. The award carries a $15,000 stipend and will support one year of dissertation research.
