PR – HKR Architects (HKR), the international architecture and design practice with offices in Dublin, London, Manchester, Belfast, Prague and Sarasota, has been ranked as Ireland’s number one architecture firm in Building Design magazine’s (BD) World Architecture 100 Survey and is now ranked number 18 in the UK.
The BD World Architecture 100 Survey ranks the world’s leading architecture practices. The annual survey ranks architecture firms by the number of architects employed and by sectoral and regional domination. The list is compiled from data gathered by UK communications agency Camargue on behalf of BD.
BD’s survey for 2007 ranks HKR as Ireland’s leading architecture firm, as the 18th largest practice in the UK, the 25th largest in Europe and as the 68th largest practice in the world. In 2007, the number of part 3 qualified architects at HKR increased to 157 with a total of 255 staff. Since the survey was completed in September 2007 HKR has sustained its growth and now has over 300 staff across the practice’s six international offices.
HKR’s increasing recognition in the BD Survey demonstrates the firm’s strengthening international reputation and growing skill-set. The practice’s improved ranking reflects a distinct ability to serve each of its markets by providing world-class design solutions and a practice with international reach.
HKR’s business is being driven through sectoral expertise in the areas of urban design and regeneration, offices, residential, retail, mixed use, hotels and resorts, education and health. The practice also has dedicated capabilities in masterplanning and public private partnership projects, and specialises in the design and fitout of interiors for all types of buildings. During 2007, HKR appointed a number of first class directors who have facilitated both the firm’s expansion into new markets and the continued development of sector specific skill sets and expertise.
