Grant Helps William and Mary Establish Center for Geospatial Analysis

The College’s Environmental Science and Policy program received a $1.5 million grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The money will be used for the establishment of both a Center for Geospatial Analysis and a postdoctoral program in the interdisciplinary environmental science program. Part of the grant money will be used to staff the Center for Geospatial Analysis. The center will be one of the country’s first at a liberal arts institution of the College’s size. $800,000 of the endowment will be used to benefit the the post-doctoral program at the College. An additional $1.6 million will be raised to complete the endowment.
