Go360/bioTrack Takes Livestock Data Collection to a New Level

  • Rating12345

ELORA, ON, Sept. 21, 2015—Farming is changing.  There is a new generation taking over and they are doing business differently.  As in any other industry today, this generation is ready to adapt to the latest technologies out there that can serve them best.  Go360|bioTrack serves notice that it is the go-to system with application for livestock farmers to easily capture and access decision critical data anytime and anywhere for optimal livestock production and management.

The time for this app is now.  According to an online survey of over 200 cow-calf producers across Canadaconducted in February and March (by three breed associations Canadian Angus, Canadian Herford Association and Canadian Simmental Association), over 90% say they are interested in using their smart phone to track cattle records.  The top events for tracking include Calving 100%, Breeding 91%, Health 83%, Performance 77%, and Pedigree 65%.

Farmers can expect to have to do more to meet buyer demands. McDonalds and Walmart are leading the inevitable charge toward verification of what you are doing on your farm and with your animals.  Go360|bioTrack is simply the best way to make that chore easy,” says Mike McMorris, General Manager at BIO.

Further substantiating the need for Go360|bioTrack is the just released report “Comparative Analysis of Beef Traceability and Practices in Australia and Ontario” (Value Chain Management Centre, May 2015) that states the lack of an effective beef traceability system in Canada is impeding the industry from benefiting financially and capturing new markets.  Because the app can trace salient data 24/7, it is a valuable management toolthat can jumpstart the process of standardizing mandatory reporting across the country.

“The Go360 technology is used widely in telecommunications, utility and security sectors.  We are excited about our partnership with BIO to bring this technology to agriculture and make farming easier and more profitable,” says Chris Cameron, CEO of Angus GeoSolutions Incorporated (AGSI).
