Drone Delivery Canada Supports Transport Canada

  • Rating12345

TORONTODrone Delivery Canada ‘DDC or the Company’ (TSX.V:FLTOTC: TAKOF), is pleased to expresses its support for the new Remotely Piloted Aircraft regulations announced today by the Minster of Transport, Marc Garneau.

These regulations are specific to drones used in Visual Line of-Site operations, may not necessarily be applicable to DDC’s Beyond Visual Line-of-Site (BVLOS) initiatives. However, DDC believes the Canadian drone industry requires this type of stable and flexible regulatory regime to allow the industry to flourish, while at the same time, having the flexibility to continue expanding its field of influence.

“The newly announced regulations are another step forward in the evolution of the industry. Ultimately, they will allow more flexibility in our current operations, while indirectly supporting DDC ability to accelerate towards the commercialization of its Drone Delivery Services in Canada“, commented Mark Wuennenberg, VP of Regulatory Affairs for Drone Delivery Canada.

The release of these regulations demonstrates Transport Canada’s leadership in this exciting new field of aviation. Additionally, it shows the department’s continued support of innovative solutions to address the infrastructure challenges experienced by Canadians, from coast to coast.

As DDC moves into commercialization, these regulations will become the cornerstone for future drone regulatory development efforts in Canada, which DDC is excited to support through our participation in Transport Canada’s BVLOS trials.

As a leader in the Canadian Drone Delivery industry DDC has been anticipating these new regulations and we are well positioned to fully implement them.

As we begin the New Year, DDC is currently focused on strengthening its management team amongst all levels with a focus on enlisting the smartest minds to assist in driving commercial operations.
