  • Rating12345

PR – Avineon, Inc., a successful provider of IT, geospatial, engineering and program management services, today announced the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has awarded the company a three-year contract to provide comprehensive systems engineering and technical support services.

Avineon will support the Modernization and Information Technology Services’ (MITS) System Architecture & Engineering (SAE) Division with services including architecture and engineering alternative analyses, impact assessments, technical evaluations and cost and schedule rough order of magnitude estimations. The $7.8 million task order is part of Avineon’s Total Information Processing Support Services (TIPSS-3) contract with the IRS. “We have provided tailored IT services to the Department of Treasury and its bureaus for nearly 10 years, which has prepared us for the analysis, evaluation, assessment and migration of mission-critical systems,” said Hee Sun Choung, senior vice president of Federal Systems with Avineon.

“Through Avineon’s long-standing relationship with the IRS, we are familiar with the bureau’s infrastructure and the rigorous scheduling and coordination needed to meet the agency’s goals and objectives throughout the lifetime of a project.” MITS provides and oversees the integration of the IRS’ computer and business modernization initiatives into the agency’s daily IT operations. The Business Systems Modernization (BSM) Office, a major component of MITS, is responsible for revamping business practices and introducing new technology. Under the contract, Avineon will provide support and services for the Modernization Vision and Strategy (MV&S) program, business intelligence services and document management for the Centers of Excellence (CentEx) and system engineering and program management support for the SAE Division.
