Mr. Dana K. "Deke" Smith, FAIA, Executive Director, buildingSMART allianceTM, National Institute of Building Sciences explains:
As this year’s buildingSMART alliance™ National Conference keynote
speaker, Ambassador Richard Swett, FAIA, the only architect to have
served in Congress in the 20th century, has a unique perspective on the
road ahead for the construction industry as it undergoes significant
transformation based on Building Information Modeling. His presentation
will provide insights into the challenges that many may not even be
aware exist, but in his position as a thought leader of one of the
country’s largest A/E firms he also has an appreciation of the
significant benefits which the changes can yield. To this end
Ambassador Swett embodies the heart of the buildingSMART alliance™ and
we consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have him as our keynote
The Ecobuild® Fall and AEC-ST® Fall annual event goes beyond green to
cover the breadth of green building, sustainable design, renewable
energy, environmental planning processes and information collaboration
