  • Rating12345

USGIF has partnered with Reinventing Geospatial Inc. (RGi), a USGIF Organizational Member, to offer a new award as part of the 2018 USGIF Scholarship Program.

The $10,000 RGi Scholarship for Geospatial and Engineering will be awarded to an undergraduate who demonstrates financial need and is interested in or studying both the engineering and geospatial disciplines.

“RGi has a long history of supporting student growth and development, and we are thrilled to continue these efforts with USGIF through an annual RGi scholarship,” said RGi CEO Stephen Gillotte. “We need to continue to build a diverse base of students who are passionate about the future of GEOINT.”

Every year, USGIF awards scholarships of various amounts to exceptional students studying the geospatial sciences and related fields. In total, USGIF has awarded more than $1.1 million in scholarships since the program began in 2004. The RGi scholarship joins six other scholarships under the USGIF Scholarship Program to include graduating high school senior, undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, the Ken Miller Scholarship for Advanced Remote Sensing Applications offered in partnership with USGIF member Riverside Research, and the K. Stuart Shea USGIF Endowed Scholarship.

USGIF and RGi have partnered to recognize and support those students with geospatial and engineering background who are committed to becoming competitive in this market,” said USGIF Director of Academic Programs Dr. Camelia Kantor. “We hope that with our support they will use their expertise to further help improve their communities.”
