PR - ETH Zurich has registered around 2,200 new entrants at Bachelor level, an increase of 7% compared to 2007. Engineering – and computer science in particular – is back in favor with students. 
Today, two thousand and two hundred young men and women will be starting their Bachelor’s degree at ETH Zurich. Machine engineering (348) and architecture (287) will receive the highest number of freshmen. While architecture has slightly fewer newcomers, the 348 new entrants in machine engineering signify an increase of 19% in that department compared to 2007. The upswing also goes for civil engineering (+19%) and, most notably, for computer science which, with 27% more new admissions, has undergone a sizeable growth
