Discovery of New Species Spurs Conservation Efforts

Recent discovery of two new species of frogs and 229 floral species on Mt. Nacolod in Southern Leyte has led to intensified efforts to rehabilitate natural forests and conserve biodiversity in the area. Purificacion M. Daloos, regional information officer of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Eastern Visayas, said the discovery of new flora and fauna in the forests of Mt.
