In June 2012, CARIS will be holding our 14th international user group conference in the city of Vancouver in British Colombia, Canada. In June 1792, Captain George Vancouver, hydrographer and naval officer, surveyed what would become the harbour of this great city. His four-year voyage of exploration aboard HMS Discovery was the longest mapping expedition in history, and his surveys were of such detail and accuracy that his charts were still being used for navigation more than a century later.

Today, modern Vancouver represents Canada's gateway to the Pacific, which is reflected in its vibrant and diverse population. Located between the Pacific Ocean and the North Shore Mountains, Vancouver provided a spectacular backdrop as the host city for the 21st Winter Olympic Games in 2010.

CARIS 2012 will be the World's largest gathering of CARIS users where you will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise, talk with industry leaders and hear the latest advancements from CARIS.
