The National Broadband Map was created by the Federal Communications Commission and contractors under guidance from the National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA). With a seven-month timeline, this project posed many challenges. Not only did this project meet this tight deadline, it delivered an unprecedented product in terms of its performance and openness for other software developers to repurpose the tools to create their own data interface.
